Rep. Lynn Copeland is serving her second term and looking forward to her third term in the Maine House of Representatives.
Copeland is a legal assistant by day and a Representative in the Maine House simultaneously. She has previously been an elected City of Saco Councilor.

She is highly skilled with a lifetime of experience in community service.  As a legal assistant she has worked for decades in county, state, federal and local government, and was an LL Bean Job Coach, Quality Coach and Problem Resolution customer service representative (Top Performer) year-round part time. She was on the Board of Directors of Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine (AFFM.net). Copeland was a small business owner of a heating and air conditioning mom-and-pop shop. She runs Lynnie’s Landing as a Notary Public and wedding officiant.

At the local level, Rep. Copeland stepped down from serving her second term as the Saco City Councilor for Ward 4. In her role as Councilor, Copeland served as the council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and was active in the Saco Conservation Commission, where she served as the chairwoman. She was also active in Saco’s Shoreline Commission, Coastal Waters Commission, and Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

Rep. Copeland lives in Saco with her cat Clover.  She drives a hybrid, had a solar hot water system installed on the roof of her prior house in Portland, and here in Saco she gets her electricity through solar farms, a renewable resource.
Rep. Copeland would like to remind residents of House District 130 in Saco that constituent services provided by her office include congratulatory letters, Legislative Sentiments, flags flown over the Capitol, assistance navigating state departments and welcomes general comments and questions about legislative matters.

Copeland’s priorities are to generate a larger industrial base to create economic growth to offset property taxes, engage the youth and senior citizens in our community to create bonds, build relationships and contribute to a healthy community,  to embrace and protect our natural resources, to advocate and for support of our foster children and foster families, and to support women’s rights by enacting the Equal Rights Amendment in Maine, and fight for workers’ rights. She strongly believes there is room at the table for everyone.

Rep. Copeland has worked hard toward to hold the Army Corp of Engineers accountable for the well-intentioned but shoreline -damaging jetty they installed in the late 1800’s.  We are on track for the mitigation project to be in place in the next year or two.  She fought to use ARPA funding, administrated by our county government, and successfully purchased a dredge.  It is in York County and is planned to be up and running next year.
